Education and Schools in France - School Hours, Terms and Holidays

added by Madeline Horth

The French school year has five terms of schooling and this includes at least 36 weeks of study, plus four holiday breaks.

Decisions about school holidays are decided by government, however some primary school term dates vary for schools that have choose to have a 4 day school week instead of going to school on a Saturday.

Schools in France have some of the longest school holidays in the world. Students only attend school for about 160 days out of the whole year.

Always check the school calendar to see holiday and term dates in your area.
